CALLING ALL GLEEKS!! The cable network, Oxygen, has just come out with a new reality TV series based off of the hit FOX show, Glee, called “The Glee Project.” The purpose of The Glee Project is to find the newest member of the Glee cast. Like many other reality TV talent shows, this contest began with open casting call auditions. After the judges dwindled down 40,000 talented contenders to the top 12, the real competition began!
With the focus of each episode being on a different element of Glee, each week the contestants are being challenged in a different and exciting way. A key component to the search of the next star of Glee is that in this competition, the judges are seeking out young adults who are unique and confident in themselves. There are no two contestants alike and each talented person has something different to offer the hit series. Ryan Murphy, the writer of Glee, plans to construct an entire role specifically around the personality of the winner of this contest.
